Counseling Services
At Transformation Counseling, counseling services are designed to support older teens and adults experiencing trauma, PTSD, complex trauma, anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, relationship stress, identity exploration, life transitions, grief, shame, self-worth concerns, and patterns rooted in early attachment or relational experiences.
While traditional talk therapy can be meaningful and helpful, trauma often lives beyond words. Stressful, overwhelming, or traumatic experiences can become stored in the nervous system, body, emotions, protective responses, and deeply held survival patterns. Because of this, healing often requires more than insight alone.
Our counseling approach integrates talk therapy with brain-body and experiential modalities that help clients access healing at a deeper level. This may include Brainspotting, the NeuroAffective Relational Model, parts work, mindfulness-based approaches, nervous system education, emotional regulation skills, and other trauma-informed interventions. These approaches support clients in noticing what happens internally, understanding protective patterns, processing unresolved experiences, and building a greater sense of safety, connection, and choice.
Healing approaches that work with both the mind and body can be especially helpful for trauma because trauma often affects more than thoughts alone. The brain and body may continue reacting as if danger is still present, even when a person logically knows they are safe. By working with the nervous system, emotions, protective patterns, and body-based responses, these approaches can support deeper healing, greater emotional regulation, and a stronger sense of safety.
Our goal is to provide counseling that is compassionate, collaborative, and individualized. We work with clients to better understand their story, reduce shame, strengthen emotional regulation, reconnect with their authentic self, and move toward healing in a safe, inclusive, LGBTQIA2S+ affirming environment.
