Phillip Lazenby

Born and raised in the Kenai/Soldotna area, Phillip has worked for the past 20 years in the mental health field in various roles, settings, and with individuals across the lifespan. He earned his Bachelor of Human Services degree from the University of Alaska in 2007, Masters Degrees in Professional Counseling as well as Addiction Counseling from Grand Canyon University in 2013, and Alaska Professional Counselor licensure in 2018. In 2020, he established Transformation Counseling to extend his passion for working with adults affected by trauma—including PTSD, Complex PTSD, attachment wounds, relational trauma, and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) to the community. Phillip is also a board-approved Counselor Supervisor helping individuals working toward their professional counselor licensure in the state of Alaska.
Phillip offers a safe, nonjudgmental space to explore the impact of trauma, negative self-beliefs, and the anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and coping patterns that often follow. Phillip is a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist, Certified Clinical Trauma Professional II, and Certified Neuroaffective Relational Model (NARM) therapist with additional training in brainspotting, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). His approach is holistic and integrated, combining mind-body methods for deep healing and lasting change while placing the therapeutic relationship at the center of care.
As a member of the LGBTQIA2S+ community with his own experiences, Phillip is passionate about helping others navigate the challenges that come with exploring and understanding their identities, self-acceptance, and living an authentic life.
